UB40 New York Concert reviews
UB GREAT!!!
This was an absolutely fantastic show from start to finish. These guys have so much energy, it's hard to believe they're my age!! Someone wrote that there was no warm-up band, but there was...but nothing missed if you didn't catch it. Once UB 40 took the stage, though, the whole place was zinging! Played all the old favorites, and some new tunes, too. The venue (House of Blues - Orlando) was small and personal - easy to feel as though you had the best seats in the house, no matter where you were. Incidentally, we DID have the best seats, on the little balcony with our own 2 person table next to the rail by the bar - about 50 feet away from the stage. Can it get any better than that?! I bet the folks on the floor think it was better there, though, with all the dancing and interaction with the band. Hmmm, maybe they have a point.
Great bands, great venue!
Got to see UB40, the Wailers, Maxi Priest & Big Mountain at NJPAC..
The bands - would have paid to see any one of these bands individually, grew up with their songs! Even though we don't have all of the original members anymore, don't let that stop you from enjoying their legacies. I've seen UB40 years before, they still got it!
The venue - this theatre is grand in style and intimate in scale. Acoustics were the right amount where we were (mid orchestra), the seating area slopes so even with someone tall in front of you, you see the stage, the lobby & entry are intimate and i think connected to a restaurant so you can get dinner before the show.
Ubered so can't comment on parking. Only recommendation is have additional drink stations available for intermission.
